3° Press release – December 2018

INCREA’s Training Courses are now available in English!

The INCREA project is dedicated to support migrants/refugees and social workers in their integration process in the European societies enhancing their language and entrepreneurial skills through the exploitation of ICT tools. Thanks to the survey we have performed among migrants and refugees, educators and stakeholders, and social workers, we managed to have a clear picture about which language, entrepreneurial and digital competencies are needed by migrants to facilitate their social inclusion and to help them start their creative business. The answer gathered helped us to build up the content of INCREA’s innovative training courses to foster language, digital and entrepreneurial skills among newcomers. We are pleased to report that the content of all three courses is now ready to be translated and released inall partners languages (Greek, French, Spanish, Italian, Slovenian) and Arabic!

What are INCREA’s courses about?

Language Skills Course: Terminology linked to the
professional and work-related field: how to prepare a job interview, how to
write a CV, how to communicate with colleagues during meetings and business
calls, how to write formal email, along with all the glossary of company law
and rules.

Entrepreneurial Skills Course: the training material approaches entrepreneurship as primarily a creative discipline and borrows from design thinking concepts, such as observing, developing a point of view, prototyping, and constant interaction, as a means of guiding the migrant through the process of the entrepreneurial endeavor. The course enables migrants to develop the basic mindset, knowledge, and insights required to pursue an entrepreneurial career as the founders of a new business in any creative field. After the completion of this course, our target group will be able to make a proper research in order to find a business idea or opportunity, to create an efficient business plan, to register their company according to national legal structures, to deal with taxation, to become familiar with the procedure of hiring employees and finally to find funding for their business.

Digital Skills Course:
Language and Entrepreneurial skills cannot be separated from the acquisition of digital capabilities that are well suited to the world of creativity. That’s why we decided to include a digital skills training session mainly focused on: the use of online open resources in daily tasks, the most efficient ways to create and sustain an online brand identity, working online and using e-banking and freelancing rules, the use of marketing techniques and social media and, finally, how online security works and what business digital documentation is needed.

DomSpain is going to host the 3rd Project Meeting in 24th and 25th of January 2019, in Reus, Spain, where all partners will discuss about the development of INCREA’s serious game, the organization of the 2nd Multiplier Event which will take place in April 2019 in Spain, and the mini local workshops that will serve as hands-on training sessions involving participants from the target group.
All the Courses will be soon available in INCREA’s project website and in a dedicated virtual space that will be developed within a Learning Motivational Environment (LME).

2° Press release – July 2018

1st Multiplier Event in Athens a Success!

We are pleased to report that while the 1st Multiplier Event, the workshop “Migrants and Creative Businesses: A Survey on Skill Gaps and Training Needs”, is over, it was a tremendous success!   On June 4th the workshop hosted by the educational software company Crystal Clear Soft (CCS) in Athens was a great success as it saw a participation of more than 40 stakeholders, social workers, migrants and refuges. The participation of these allowed the project to provide pivotal knowledge and insight into the current social situation of migrants and refuges as well as their competency levels in linguistic, creative/cultural digital, and entrepreneurial skills to those whom it is the most relevant and beneficial.   The information which the project provided for the attendees revealed a considerable gap in various skill levels between migrants/refugees and natives. And while it provided some suggestions for improving the current situation, the participants of the workshop were encouraged and, to our joy, most excited to express their own thoughts and evaluations of the issue and participate in further discussions. Even more so, the participants to the workshop gave strong expressions and indications of a positive attitude to a continuous cooperation and participation to the project.   All the activities were planned and carried out thanks to the valued commitment of the six participating organizations: Crystal Clear Soft (CCS) from Greece leader of the project, Coopération Bancaire pour l’Europe (CBE) from Belgium, Cooperativa Sociale Arnèra from Italy, Žalec Adult Education Centre (UPI) from Slovenia, DOMSPAIN CONSULTING SL from Spain and MATERHAUB from Italy.

1° Press release – May 2018

Athens will host the first INCREA Multiplier Event on June 4th

On June 4th, Crystal Clear Soft (CCS), a leading educational software company, will host “Migrants and Creative Businesses: A Survey on Skill Gaps and Training Needs”, a two-day Multiplier Event in Athens, Greece in order to present the results of the first Intellectual Output on the development of INCREA, a project that aims to help integrate migrants and refugees into European society within the KA2 of the Erasmus + programme.

“The Boosting social Inclusion of migrants through Creative industries (INCREA)” project aims at filling targeted gaps with which migrants and refugees are confronted. More specifically, it focuses on the one hand on the development of appropriate language skills through the implementation of diversified language courses based on different educational and cultural backgrounds. On the other hand, it works towards the migrants’ acquisition of entrepreneurial and digital skills, combined with activities on the creative sector in order to foster social inclusion and growth through the creation of businesses.

The first Intellectual Output will be an appropriate instrument for the collection of valuable information with regard to the main gaps in entrepreneurial, digital and linguistic competences applied in the creative and cultural field among migrants. This was possible thanks to a series of questionnaires to the target groups submitted by each partner of the project.
With great satisfaction, both these groups, represented by migrants and social workers, demonstrated a strong will to actively participate in the project. The collaboration between the migrants, albeit some variations, has been successful and it proved a deep desire of integration and realization within the European society.

The results of the questionnaires are being evaluated by Arnera, an Italian NGO, partner in the project. A fundamental report will therefore be published with the objective of assessing the principal training needs of migrants in order to develop at a later stage a training methodology and the Serious Game. The latter represents a more dynamic and interactive opportunity to improve migrants’ and refugees’ linguistic skills and entrepreneurial spirit.

The INCREA project follows a particular methodology that takes into consideration the experience and resources of the partners to the project. The consortium, which is represented by members from different European Countries, has the task to combine the results in order to create realistic objectives and targets to achieve in the field of education.

All the activities are planned and carried out thanks to the valued commitment of the six participating organizations: Crystal Clear Soft (CCS) from Greece leader of the project, Coopération Bancaire pour l’Europe (CBE) from Belgium, Cooperativa Sociale Arnèra from Italy, Žalec Adult Education Centre (UPI) from Slovenia, DOMSPAIN CONSULTING SL from Spain and MATERHAUB from Italy.

The event in Athens will also give the participating members the opportunity to prepare the organization and the development of the second Intellectual Output. This involves the creation of innovative training material with relevant and detailed documentation on language, digital and creative entrepreneurship fields, on the basis of the outcome of the first Intellectual Output.
